Not every plastic bag deserves a second chance. Bags that once held dry or relatively clean foods—like bread, produce, or packaged snacks—can usually be reused if they are washed thoroughly with warm, soapy water, rinsed well, and allowed to air-dry completely, inside and out. This careful routine helps limit bacterial growth and cross-contamination while still cutting down on waste and repeated purchases.
