The scream of brakes came too late.
In seconds, a trailer became a steel wall across the Mexico–Querétaro Highway, and hundreds of drivers found themselves trapped in a nightmare of twisted metal and blaring sirens.
Rain, fatigue, speed — or something worse? Authorities are racing to piece together the fina…
On one of the country’s most vital routes, routine traffic suddenly turned into chaos when the speeding trailer slammed into several vehicles and then jackknifed, sealing all three lanes.
Families, commuters, and truckers were left stranded for hours, watching rescue teams weave between crumpled cars and scattered debris. The fear was palpable as paramedics checked the injured, searching for signs of something far worse.
By nightfall, the immediate danger had passed, but the questions had not. Investigators are now dissecting every second before impact: the trailer’s speed, its maintenance records, the driver’s work hours, the weather, the traffic flow. Each possibility carries its own kind of blame.
For those who witnessed the crash, the lesson feels brutally clear: on highways like this, one miscalculation is enough to put an entire region at risk.
