According to the report citing TMZ and the St. Peters Police Department, officers responded to Robert Kelker-Kelly’s Missouri home after a complaint of chest pain. They found him unconscious and not breathing, and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

No cause of death has been made public. Born in Wichita, Kansas, Kelker-Kelly became known as Sam Fowler on Another World before taking over from Peter Reckell as Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives.

Replacing a beloved leading man was no small challenge.

Kelker-Kelly approached it by making the character his own, sharing memorable storylines with Kristian Alfonso and Lisa Rinna. He later brought a darker presence to General Hospital as Stavros Cassadine.
