The first impact sounded like an explosion.
Within seconds, the sky was hurling ice at a sleeping town, turning calm streets into a war zone of shattered glass and pounding rooftops. People ran for cover as “golf balls” of ice smashed cars, windows, and nerves.
No one was ready. No one was warn…
By the time the storm finally moved on, the town felt strangely altered, as if a single evening had carved a permanent mark into its memory.
Lawns were littered with shredded leaves and broken branches, driveways lined with dented vehicles, and sidewalks scattered with glittering shards of glass beneath fading streetlights.
Neighbors stepped out slowly, speaking in hushed, disbelieving tones, comparing the size of the hailstones and replaying the exact moment the sky turned violent.
For many, the fear lingered long after the clouds cleared. Parents checked on sleeping children, listening for the next rumble. Homeowners stared at cracked shingles and broken windows, calculating repairs they never planned for.
Yet amid the damage, there was a quiet sense of gratitude: no lives lost, no serious injuries, just a community shaken awake to how suddenly everything familiar can be struck, broken, and rearranged in a single, brutal hour.
